I grew up on a hobby farm outside of Ottawa with chickens, ducks and one really mean turkey. My family grew a lot of asian greens, which I didn't care for as a child. As an adult, I interned on an organic farm for a season and that's when my love for asian greens and fresh veg/fruits bloomed! After moving to Vancouver, the rural days of no shoes and dirt in every crevasse of the body was replaced with apartment living and bruises replacing once was dirt on the body from skateboarding! 
Nevertheless, the farmer in me never left (just on stand-by). I was always fortunate enough to have some container gardens going on the balcony. This season, my partner and I and two other neighbours in my apartment building cleaned up the [direlect] back patio area of our east van apartment and made a bountiful garden to share with the building.
